Women's Ways of Knowing is a book written by Belenky, Clinchy, Goldberger, and Tarule Googlebooks that reveals an alternative view of intellectual development to that posed by William G. Perry wikipedia
In contrast to the homogenous group on which Perry's model of intellectual development was based, Belenky et al explored how a diverse group of women thought about their own thinking and its development over time. Through the women's own narratives, different ways of knowing were identified: Silence, Received knowledge listening to the voice of others, Procedural knowledge, and Constructed knowing or Constructed knowledge, integrating the voices.
##Baxter Magolda Baxter Magolda's model integrates Perry's model of intellectual development with Women's Ways of Knowing as equally viable ways of thinking critically for men and women. Though we need to clarify that men and women are also capable of thinking in both ways - just that more women are more likely to prefer one way over another.
